Booktastik’s Book Blogger’s Corner—Kristy is Addicted to Books

24 November 2014

The next book blogger to grace our pages is Kristy Louise. She’s an Australian mum who loves to read, and she runs Book Addict Mumma, a popular site that reviews and hosts blog tours for all things romance.

Hi Kristy, it’s great to have you on Booktastik. Your site, BookAddictMumma has recommendations for some sexy, intense-looking romances. Is that your favourite type of romance?

Hi there!! Thank you so much for having me,I am super excited to be here! I love anything romance, sweet, sexy, dark; if it captures my attention I will read it.

How long have you been book blogging, and what got you started?

I have been blogging for 2 years now. I started blogging because I had so many friends asking me for recommendations on what to read and I wanted to share the books I have loved.

How did you come up with that awesome website name?

Oh wow, I actually have no idea. I was just sitting at the computer thinking of different and catchy names, I am addicted to books and I am a mumma of 3 gorgeous boys lol.

(Well, that makes total sense lol).

How many hours a week would you devote to reading and posting things on your site?

Gosh, there was a time where it turned into a full-time job. I had to take some time off due to some health issues, now I would say I read at least 2 hrs a day if I am not passed out from exhaustion from my boys. All my blogging is done on Mondays and after my boys go to bed.

Do you do a lot of social media, or do you try and contain your activity to the website?

I spend way too much time on social media LOL! But it’s good as I have “met” a lot of wonderful people whilst pimping books like crazy!

(You and me both. I would get so much more done if it wasn’t for Facebook and Twitter lol).

If you could meet an author, who would it be?

Oh gosh, do I have to choose just one! I actually have 3 that I am dying to meet. A.Meredith Walters, Courtney Cole and M. Leighton.

These ladies are beautiful friends and even being oceans apart they are always there and they write INCREDIBLE books!

What do you love best about book blogging?

I love discovering new and amazing authors, I love connecting with them and just seeing their reactions when I tell them I loved their books. I also love the friendships I have made with both Aussie authors and International authors.

Which do you prefer: ebooks or paperbacks?

I carry my kindle everywhere with me, but I have 2 bookshelves full of gorgeous signed paperbacks.

(So, I guess it’s a dead heat ;)).

Can you let our readers know about two books that you’ve loved and you think they should read?

I sure can!

Nocte by Courtney Cole

This book turned my life upside down when I read it; it is so intense and well written, I won’t give anything away as you need to experience it for yourself. It’s book one of a trilogy, and book two is out on Feb 2nd. But if your readers want something amazing to read, please pick up Nocte — it is phenomenal.

Reclaiming the Sand by A.Meredith Walters

Reclaiming the sand

This book is PHENOMENAL!!!

I have never read a book like this one. It completely and utterly destroyed my soul and built it back up ever so slowly, but in perfect time.

The emotional turmoil in this book is heartbreaking, like I felt my heart shattering into a million pieces. You know when there is someone you meet and you just want to hold onto them forever, that’s what I wanted to do for Ellie and Flynn. Another book that is really different and one that I think is amazing.

I gave both these books 10 stars and recommend them to everyone!

Thanks for such enthusiastic reviews! I’m sure our romance readers will be running off to grab these books. And thanks so much for joining us today and giving our readers some great recommendations.

Thank you again for having me, and I hope everyone likes my recs!

I’m sure they will :).

If you’ve enjoyed this post, we’d love it if you could share it with your romance-reading friends. Cheers!
