Praying Through the Gospel of Luke: A Book of Devotional Prayers

11 April 2016

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. (Col 2:6-7)

How are your roots? Are they strong? Is your life built on the Lord Jesus? Is your faith strong in the truth of the Lord’s word?

Whether your answer is yes, or no, there should always be a striving to know more of Him. Your spiritual growth and knowledge of God increases with a constant diet of reading the Bible and praying for God to reveal more of Himself. God’s word and your relationship with Him should be the very foundation your life.

Therefore it makes sense that praying God’s word will have just that kind of effect. If you let your roots grow down into Him, effectively building your life on Him, then as the verse above says, your faith will grow strong. Not only that…. you will overflow with thankfulness too.
